Cider House Counseling
Cider House Counseling works with children, adolescents and young adults struggling with parental separation, divorce, remarriage, trauma, grief, emotional or behavioral challenges such as depression, self-harm, suicidal ideation, anxiety, and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. Not only is Cider House Counseling able to help with individual challenges but can also assist the whole family system and help achieve relational healing. By assisting the whole family we are able to help identify and change problematic patterns in relationships as well as teach strategies to handle communication and conflict resolution. Our goal is to promote healthily, connected, and safe relationships between family members. We also offer parent coaching sessions to address areas in which parents feel stuck and brainstorm possible solutions to implement at home.
Cider House Counseling utilizes Experiential Therapy and Expressive Therapeutic Art techniques. These therapeutic techniques allow the individual to experience a scene, situation or feeling in an experiential way while being supported by a psychotherapist. Through movement or creative arts, an individual is guided to communicate and process their emotional experiences in their own time and unique way.
